“Cries
& Whispers”
Painting Exhibition
Gallery Bark Modern Art, Hong Kong
From 31st March 2004 until 2nd May 2004
French born Australian artist Christine Maudy will present her recent works featuring bright abstracts paintings on canvas at Bark Modern Art, Hong Kong.
Christine
is committed to abstraction. Her style of painting is expressive. She relies
on color and texture as a means of expressing her feelings and to make things
visible She does not try to depict reality but to show feelings and emotions
through visual associations and colors.
A truly contemporary artist Christine explores the major cultural, political
and ecological issues and believes that is the artist’s duty to contribute
in raising awareness.
“Cries & Whispers” is Christine’s way to express her concerns at the poor state of the human’s rights in the world at the beginning of the 21st century.
The works “Rumors”, “Whispers”, “Muted Voices”...are inspired and dedicated to all the people whose voices are silenced not only in the dictatorial regimes but also in our “democratic" ones.
The
women (and some men) in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran...
The democratic opposition in Burma and elsewhere,
The refugees in the Australian detention camps,
The prisoners in Guantanamo Bay,
The victims of terrorism, racism, war...
Some other works “Celebration”, “Peace”, ”Earth Song” relates to her natural optimism and faith in our power to make the world a better place.
Fluent
in Italian and English as well as French she feels a true citizen of the world.
She has exhibited in Australia and abroad (check
