Christine Maudy expondrá sus últimas obras a partir del 10 de junio en la Galería Catarsis de Madrid.
Gritos y Susurros refleja, mediante una abstracción estratificada, densa y evocadora, las preocupaciones de la artista por los derechos humanos en este principio de milenio, así como su absoluta confianza en la capacidad del ser humano para superar todo tipo de reto.
Christine utiliza la pintura para expresar tanto su sentir como sus pensamientos. A menudo inicia sus cuadros con distintas capas de collage, con arena y empaste, y luego desarrolla la obra con finas capas de colores entremezclados, con pintura acrílica, óleo y pan de oro. Recurre a colores, representaciones abstractas y estructuras lineales como lenguaje universal para expresar el grito ahogado de aquellos a quienes se niega la palabra.
La arrolladora energía de los cuadros de esta pintora han hecho que su obra se siga con interés tanto en Australia como en otros continentes, pues expone regularmente en España, Australia y Hong Kong, países que cuentan con obras suyas tanto en colecciones privadas como en instituciones oficiales.
“… Su obra canta, respira, ríe y habla. El cuadro 11 de septiembre es la expresión de una tragedia en la que destaca el tenebroso instinto humano de destrucción. Así es cómo Christine se reconcilia con el mundo. También su vida cotidiana queda reflejada en su obra, que viene a ser un microcosmos de su mundo desde una perspectiva universal”.

Christine Maudy exhibition will open on June 10 at Galería Catarsis Madrid.
Cries and Whispers reflects in a dense, evocative, multi-layered abstraction, the artist’s concern over the state of human rights in the world at the beginning of the 21st century, but also her indomitable faith in the ability of the human spirit to overcome this state of affairs.
For
Christine painting is translating her feelings and thoughts.
She often starts her paintings with a layer of collage, sand and impasto before
developing the work with subtle layers of intermixed colours in acrylic, oil
and gold leaf. She uses colours, abstracts marks and linear structure as a
universal language to express the shouting whispers of those who are denied
a voice.
There is a relentless energy to her powerful images that has gained her a broad following both in Australia and overseas. Christine exhibits regularly in Spain, Hong Kong as well as at home in Australia, and is represented in private and corporate collections in all of these countries as well as in Switzerland, the US and France.
